Snowy days in Memphis!

Did you have a big, beautiful snowfall in your neck of the woods?  We did!  Yesterday, we woke up to about 5 inches of the fluffy, white stuff, and, boy, was it pretty!  Baby girl's school was closed, and the roads were somewhat dangerous, so the AFS household took a snow day.

First, the Knight drove me to the office so that I could grab a couple of files that I needed to work on.  It was quite an adventure...the 3 of us, crammed in his old Jeep Wrangler, braving the icy (but beautiful) roads.  We got to my work safe and sound, and paraded Coco around for a bit to the skeleton crew who made it to the office.  After that, we headed to the Pancake Shop on Summer Avenue for some country cookin'.  The breakfast was very good, and the clientele made think of my childhood in White House, TN.  Lots of nice good 'ol boys, camo, trucks, waitresses with names like Dixie and Rose, and swapping tall tales over coffee.  We'll definitely go there again.

The rest of the day was spent enjoying the snow and being entranced by the perfect fire that the Knight built.

(pay no attention to the Christmas decorations that are STILL up.  I'm getting to it, I promise!)

Because of our schedules, we don't get to spend much time together, all three of us, as a family.  It was so nice to be together, and we just enjoyed the quietness and stillness of the day.  Yesterday was the epitome of peace for me.

I hope that if you had a snow day, it was as wonderful as ours.

Snowflakes and silent nights,
