Coco's nursery featured on Spearmint Baby today!

Good morning to you all! Do you read Spearmint Baby? It is one of my favorite "baby blogs." The nurseries Shari features served as a bulk of my inspiration when planning Baby C's bedroom.

Now that our pumpernickel has been around for a few months, I have to say that her nursery is functioning pretty well.  The layout works, the rug is miraculously still in good condition, her furniture is great (although we did have to contact the merchant for a few replacement pieces), and the color is still very appealing to me.  The only things we added after her birth were a hamper, a trash can, a humidifier, and we moved more books from the bookshelf to the end table.  We also tried to install a dimmer switch, but for some reason, we couldn't get it to jive with the eco-friendly flourescent bulbs in her ceiling fan.

AFS 5 Year Birthday Giveaway #4!

hope you all had a WONDERFUL weekend!  We sure did.  The Knight's parents surprised us with an impromptu visit, Baby C turned on the charm and entertained everyone AND Miss Thing cut her first tooth!  Last night, I could actually see a little white tooth peeking out from her gums.  I am glad that she has something to show for her fussiness and late/long nights.  As much as I hate being tired, at least I know that her unhappiness can be attributed to her hard work in sprouting teeth.

AFS 5 Year Blogaversary Post!

Today is the official 5 year birthday of the AFS blog.  (a little cheer! rah!) While my blog started from extremely humble beginnings (a flatulence post, really?), I am glad that it has stuck around to track the changing seasons of my life.

I have gone from fun-loving party girl to fun-loving mama.

In five years, the AFS blog has covered all sorts of topics: self confessions, my first (and only) experience at one of those Tupperware/Mary Kay type sex toy parties, the time I met Ted Nugent, the Chinny, how to properly celebrate a birthday, and tons of other random and wonderful things in my life.

This blog has taken me through law school (which consisted of a little studying and a lot of tailgating),

pet ownership,

my best friend getting married,

passing the bar,

home ownership,

my first pregnancy,

and the newest phase - parenthood.

I have shopped, and shopped, and shopped, and shopped.  Whew!  No wonder my debit card is worn thin and the numbers are rubbed off. :) 

I have, on occasion, been a tad bit Artsy Fartsy and crafty, as well.

I took a stab at Mancandy Monday and Football Fashion Friday.  I laid those ideas to rest when I got bored with them, but they may make a reappearance one day.  Currently Coveting posts are far and few between, but they show no sign of ceasing any time soon.

Suffice it to say, the AFS blog has covered a lot of my "life travels."  There's still plenty of gas in the proverbial tank, so it will continue to go as long as I am having fun doing it. 

If you have been a faithful reader, thank you so much for your comments and friendship.  If you are a new reader, welcome aboard and I hope you enjoy being a part of the AFS family!
